Each year, the Horning Core Values Conference brings team members together to reconnect and focus on the values that guide our work every day. It’s a time to celebrate our people, share company updates, and support the growth and well-being of our teams.
This year’s conference focused on community, learning, and purpose. During the event, leadership shared updates about the company, where we’re headed, and the work happening across the organization. These conversations help keep employees informed and connected to the bigger picture.
One of the most meaningful parts of the day was our community service project, where employees worked together to build water filters for underprivileged countries. It was a great reminder of the impact we can make when we work together and support those in need.
We also introduced our updated vision and mission statements, sharing a clearer picture of our purpose and the future we’re building at Horning. As we continue to grow, these guiding principles will help keep us focused on people, community, and making a positive impact across greater Washington DC.

An employee-favorite moment of the conference was hearing from our keynote speaker, John Register, who is a Paralympic silver medalist, combat veteran, and leadership orator. He shared his story about resilience and change, encouraging employees to face challenges with confidence and to remain open to growth.
Employees also attended breakout sessions focused on personal and professional growth. Topics included health equity, financial literacy, and the importance of rest and relaxation. These sessions encouraged open conversations and showed our commitment to supporting employees both at work and in their everyday lives.
To close out the conference, Horning recognized employees who live out our core values every day with a robust slate of awards. Celebrating these team members is a reminder that our culture is built through everyday actions like supporting others, leading with integrity, and making a difference in our communities.
As the conference ended, one thing was clear: our core values are more than words. They shape how we work, lead, and move forward together.
Thank you to everyone who helped make the 2026 Core Values Conference such a meaningful event. We’re already looking forward to next year!
