At Horning, we believe strong communities are built by the people who live and work in them. For nearly 70 years, we have proudly served the Washington, DC metro area, with a deep and ongoing commitment to the neighborhoods that make this region unique. That dedication continues through the Horning Neighborhood Grant Program.
The program was created to recognize and support individuals, groups, and community partners who are helping neighborhoods and their residents grow and thrive. These are people who step up, give back, and work every day to improve the lives of others. By providing both funding and recognition, the program helps these important efforts continue and expand.
This year, we are honored to recognize a group of outstanding grant recipients whose work reflects the strength and diversity of our communities:
- Living Generations Entrepreneurship Program, which teaches entrepreneurship, money management, and leadership skills to young adults
- Andrea’s House, which creates a safe, welcoming space and empowers women recovering from addiction
- Good Projects, which supports youth and families in building fulfilling lives through education, mentorship, and community programs
- The Musicianship, which inspires young people and emerging artists by providing free music education
- Generation DMV, which creates a welcoming space for Black men to focus on their mental health and well-being
- KKW Transportation and Case Management, which provides reliable transportation to help people stay connected to jobs, services, and opportunities
Each of these recipients is making a meaningful impact across the Washington, DC metro area. Their work closely reflects our core values of community focus, collaboration, empowerment, and integrity. We are proud to invest in the people who are shaping the future of our communities. We believe that when local leaders are supported, entire neighborhoods benefit.
